- Model Making: Model making is an art. Our experienced
model makers can craft even the most intricate model for
our customers. Models can be created from artwork, sketches,
or samples.
- Rubber and Metal Molds: Cranston Casting Co. molds
are made using vulcanized rubber or metal. Vulcanized rubber
is most common and is less expensive. It requires the model
to be 5% larger. The mold must be able to withstand 350 degrees
Fahrenheit of heat. Minimum size rubber mold is 3" long x 2" wide x 1/2" thickness.
Maximum size rubber mold is 10" long x 6" wide x 6" thickness.
- Wax or Plastic Patterns: Cranston Casting Co. creates
quality made patterns from wax or plastic. The pattern becomes
a positive copy of the design. We pour, or inject melted
material into the cavity of empty molds. Through the years
Cranston Casting Co. has created several hundred thousand
patterns for our customers.
- Unfinished Castings: Cranston Casting will supply
raw castings.
- Complete Finishing Services: After cleaning Cranston
Casting Co. has the experience and equipment to provide whatever
additional services our customers require. This may include
grinding, sanding, polishing, soldering and plating.
